Low-Boiling Chloropropene Mixture: Composition, Safety Data and FOB ISO-Tank Supply
We have published a full GHS safety data sheet for our low-boiling chloropropene mixture. This note explains what the product is, how it is classified for transport, and the supply terms buyers can expect.
The low-boiling chloropropene mixture is a light-ends stream recovered in chloropropene production in Shandong. Its main component is 2-chloropropene (CAS 557-98-2), with 2-chloropropane and 1-chloropropene as the other principal constituents. It is a different product from high-purity allyl chloride (3-chloropropene) and should not be confused with it.

Composition and key properties
Typical composition stated in our SDS (supplier estimate, confirmed for each batch): 2-chloropropene 70–80 %, 2-chloropropane 10–15 %, 1-chloropropene 8–12 %, other chlorinated C3 hydrocarbons below 5 %. The mixture boils at roughly 23–38 °C and has a flash point of about −30 °C, so it is classified as an extremely flammable liquid (GHS Category 1, H224).
Possible uses — subject to testing
In our experience the mixture evaporates very quickly and has strong solvent action. Potential uses include a solvent component for fast-drying adhesives intended for cold regions, a component of high-solvency paint thinners, and a 2-chloropropene-containing feedstock for intermediates in the HFC-365mfc value chain. These are possible applications, not guaranteed performance: suitability must be verified against the actual batch composition and the customer’s own process.
Transport and supply terms
According to our SDS, the product is transported as UN1993, FLAMMABLE LIQUID, N.O.S. (2-CHLOROPROPENE, 2-CHLOROPROPANE), Class 3, Packing Group I. The final transport classification is confirmed by a dangerous-goods test report before shipment.
Supply is by ISO tank only, on FOB terms from a Chinese port agreed in the quotation. Drums, IBCs and CIF/CFR quotations are not offered for this product. Payment by letter of credit can be considered, subject to review of the terms.
Safety data sheet and batch analysis
The English SDS (Revision 1.0, 2 November 2026) can be downloaded below and from the product page. It applies to the mixture supplied without added caustic soda solution; orders with caustic addition require composition-specific safety documents. Batch analysis is available on request before purchase.
